Araghchi:

No deadline sacred to Iran

No deadline sacred to Iran

VIENNA, Jul. 08 (MNA) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Seyed Abbass Araqchi said on Tuesday that no deadline is considered sacred and that the negotiators are ready to continue talks in Vienna as long as needed.

The senior negotiator told Mehrnews that reaching a proper agreement is the primary goal and even if the talks extend day-by-day Iran is ready to stay and continue.

He further added that an understanding has been reached on the removal of financial and economic sanctions, noting that the 5+1 should make a "political decision" to settle the remaining issues blocking a final deal on Tehran’s nuclear program.

“The other parties should stop loyalty to sanctions. This is an obvious principle that we cannot have both a deal and sanctions together, and the 5+1 should choose one of them. The approach should definitely change,” added Araghchi considering the issue of sanctions.

He also said the text of final agreement between Iran and the 5+1 is almost complete, however the remaining parts need political will.

Araghchi meanwhile added that Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali-Akbar Salehi and the US Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz have had good and serious discussions about the annexes of the nuclear talks.
